NOBODY'S POV

The whole world froze.

There was no more sound. No more wind flowing through Clover's hair. Clover heard no one even breath. Sticky blood oozed down her neck, but it felt like she was the last living being on the Earth. The rain had even stopped in mid-fall.

Clover lowered the bow and stared in astonishment at her shot.

The arrow was an inch away from Octavian's heart.

Octavian's face was full of terror and fear. His hair had frozen in place, so it looked like his whole body was a 3D picture. Clover turned in a complete circle. Everyone on the whole battle field had frozen as well. Thalia, who was standing next to her, was glaring at Octavian. The soldiers that had circled Clover had all stopped moving. They had their swords, spears, javelins, and every other kind of weapon trained on her, but none of them moved.

"Well done," A voice said softly. Clover clenched the bow tightly in her hands, causing her knuckles to go white. She looked up into the sky.

"Who's there?" She asked sternly. Out of the shadows, a man stepped out. He wore a suit and slacks with a button down black shirt. His salt and pepper hair appeared to be thinning out, and his hands were caulused from holding a pencil for too long.

I held my ground against his gaze; a gaze that I would never forgot.

Rick Riordan, the creator and destroyer of all I had worked for, took long strides toward me. His footsteps seemed to put the color back into the grass, the sky, and into the people around him, but when he walked farther away the object, it dimmed once more.

"Well done, Clover. I must say you have proven yourself to be my fangirl," Rick answered calmly. As he strode around the hole Octavian was trapped in, Clover squeezed her eyes shut.

"Thank you...sir... Why have you come to visit me, sir?" Mr. Riordan smiled at my expression.

"My dear," he replied softly, "I have come to the conclusion that you, sadly, have not met my expectations of my story." Clover nervously rubbed her thumb up and down the bow she was holding.

"I don't believe I understand..." Clover mentioned quietly. Rick soon stood next to her, a kind smile slowly overtaking his proud one.

"I'll be less soft about the news then." He walked around the pit and waved his hand toward the troops. "These are unstable conditions to my characters. You have twisted the story the way you want to go, which is not what I assigned you to do. I gave you the job to make sure things went the way of plan. I told you, from the very beginning, how everything would end. Instead... you have used the resources I gave you to follow childish ideas. Octavian having feelings for Rachel? Nico falling for Reyna? Calypso agreeing to let you have Leo? A ring with magical powers? What is this? Lord of the Rings? No!" His sudden change of tone caused Clover to flinch. He continued.

"I have given you thousands of options for you to choose to fix the story! I thought you had taken that hand, but you betrayed me! Now all of this I must fix, and I only have a year to do it! Blood of Olympus has become an absolute mess! And!" Rick whirled to face Clover, his eyes hard with rage. "You have changed the title!" Clover blinked, confused as he brain slowly processed his words.

"T-title?"

"Yes!" Rick shouted. "It was changed to 'Erased'! How are you to explain that?!" Clover's knees began to wobble and tremble.

"I-I didn't change the title... I-I didn't-"

"She didn't change the the title."

Rick and Clover spun to face the voice. Clover's heart stopped in her chest as she gazed at the boy that had been raised from the dead. His blonde hair hung in his eyes and his blue eyes seemed to cut the air like butter. His clothes appeared clean and fresh, like he has just come from a walk in the park.

"I did," Tyler proudly stated.

Rick's eyes hardened, "What do you want, Tyler? I thought I eliminated you as a threat!" Tyler sneered.

"I've been in the margins of the book...waiting... I knew I had to step in somewhere, I just didn't know where. Sure, I wanted to slap Leo a couple times, save Clover from Octavian, but I knew I would find a better spot to come in. And I did."

"B-but..." Clover stuttered. "Tyler... how are you alive...? I carried your dead body!" Tyler grimaced, like the details weren't pleasant.

"It doesn't matter... But I think it's time we leave." Tyler jogged up to Clover and grabbed her arm. He faced Rick with a determined face. "Our work is done here." Rick let out a short laugh.

"Do you really believe I would let you leave? Just like that? You two trouble makers have ruined my greatest book!"

"You gave us permission in!" Clover snapped. "You let us in and you should have realized that we would twist things the way we wanted them! Welcome to our book: Erased. Now get out of here! You've caused us enough trouble!"

Rick hesitated, rubbing his knuckles. As he chose his words carefully, Clover glanced at Tyler. Tyler's face was as hard as stone.

"Alright then... You say this is your book? Fine. I'll just have to take it by force." Rick waved his hand and disappeared in a poof of letters.

The ground rumbled. Clover gripped Tyler as the frozen world began to shake. The blood on Clover's neck started to recede back into the wound. Under their feet, the grass began to fade. The battle scene appeared to be in the state of erasing. People's faces faded into the background and their whole body followed suit.

"What's going on?!" Clover yelled, frantically watching everything around her. The crack in the sky stitched itself back together then disappeared completely.

"I don't know!" Tyler responded loudly. The ground shook again, causing Clover and Tyler to fall to the ground. Rick's voice thundered all around them, and the words which he spoke chilled Clover to the bone.

"Enjoy your book, fans. I have a book to publish."
