The Tragedy at Medicine University

My dream began with me visiting a home renovation that featured an Indochina-style pool, which is my mom's favorite. As my family and I were admiring the pool, I noticed a building that looked strange, as if it were surrounded by clouds. I asked my father, "Hey Dad, that building looks funny. It looks like it's emerged in the clouds."

He replied, "Ha, yeah, it does look weird. But I don't think it's a cloud-styled building. That's the Medicine University, and the smoke is coming from there." Suddenly, I heard people screaming from the windows of the building, and I saw a huge flame behind them.

My mind was then transported to a news article with the headline "Large Fire at the University of Medicine in China." The article reported that there had been four deaths and included clear footage from security cameras. I clicked on the cameras and was shocked by what I saw.

In a chemistry lab on the top floor of the building, five students were doing experiments. One male student was sitting on a swivel chair, using his Bunsen burner without goggles on. The flame sparked on his face, and he reflexively pushed himself back, causing his chair to hit a metal closet behind him. A bucket filled with an unknown substance fell on his head, and he screamed as white smoke rose from his head. He ran to the emergency room, where he submerged himself in a bathtub of distilled water.

Meanwhile, another student's Bunsen burner malfunctioned, causing a column of fire in the middle of the room. The explosion of a gas tank buried two students under doors, shelves, and bricks.

The fire quickly spread to the emergency room, where the male student's deskmate covered him while they waited for help. Students outside the lab heard the screaming and gathered by the door. Soon after the explosion, they ran to the escape route and warned others as they went. The fire extinguisher system did not work, only the alarm. Although firefighters were able to rescue those who were trapped, the fire took eight hours to completely extinguish. The tragedy claimed four lives, and I was deeply moved by what I saw. I kept rewinding the footage, trying to understand the reactions of those four students as they faced their deaths.

A detective was sent to the scene and found the four bodies, which were badly disfigured. One of the students had been heavily melted, likely due to the chemical liquid that had spilled on them. The police concluded that someone had broken into the school and damaged the fire system and methane pipes. They also suspected that the perpetrator was the one who placed the chemical bucket on top of the closet.
