I was both excited and nervous as I stood there at the airport. I opened my eyes and suddenly woke up, the plane had landed and took me to this strange city. I took a taxi to the hotel, left my luggage in my room, and walked alone to visit the city.

The Avenue appeared in front of my eyes. By this time, the sun had fallen. The golden light of the sunlight spreading on the branches of autumn trees created a romantic scene just like a poetic village.

I started walking on the polished brick road; many people was walking back and forth, talking to each other happily and passionately. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the beautiful scenery of the autumn afternoon.

I continued to go by foot on the boulevard while watching the blue Tinagi river winding through the city with its gentle waves and cool murmuring sounds.

Suddenly the image of a little girl came into my view, she was only about 12-13 years old, at this age should she have fun with friends in the park ? But no, she just sat there, on the bench, alone with her beautiful pure white dress. She was quietly humming the passionate rhymes with a peaceful face, no sorrow, no anger, no regret, just the peace.

"Hey little girl, may I ask what are you doing ?" I came closer and asked her.

She then looked up at me with her closed eyes, which had been sewn together with huge black threads woven into a weird X shape.

"Oh, hello miss, may I wish you a good afternoon. Would you like to buy some flowers ?"

"Flowers ? But I couldn't see any flowers here."

She smiled at me with her eyes that could never see the sunlight, could never see what is called the beautiful sceneries that I had seen before, then she answered my question in an unusually clear voice.

"Oh no no no, I just asked whether you would like to buy or not, please ?"

For girls and woman like me, flowers are usually the beautiful and precious things, so of course I like them very much. But that's not why I would said yes, rather, I was curious about what kind of flowers she would sell me.

"Why not, who would refuse some beautiful flowers ?"

"Hi hi, please wait for me!"

The sun was already very low. Fashion stores and restaurants were brightly lit and dazzling.

The little girl picked up the bible she had been keeping beside her. She unfolded it, enjoyed the scent of fresh paper, and then began tearing apart the pages filled with godly philosophies.

The pretty fingers repeatedly arranged them into petals in a gentle and agile manner. One, two, and three petals. Four, five and six petals.

Until a bouquet of confetti that made from brand new bible pages was completed. Then, she gently poured a bright red layer over them and then handed it to me.

"My apology for keeping you wait. Here is yours, my guest."

She pressed it to my hand, smiling slyly as if she was expecting to "see" my reaction.

Surprised by what happened, I frantically took out a few money bills with the highest denominations and gave them to her. Poor the little girl, maybe she was a disabled child but her family was poor. Despite her sickness and disability, she still tried to make money and live by this way.

But those were just my thoughts.

"Oh my, there's no need for that, you are the special guest today, lady. So it should be free just for you."

"Wha...Really ? But please at least take one of them, at least you can buy something for dinner or tomorrow meal." I sincerely and gently asked her.

"Hmm, tomorrow ? The pure present is an ungraspable advance of the past devouring the future. If you say so, it would be fine. I will take them."

She took the bill from me, but instead of putting it in her pocket, she folded it into a small boat, gently set it down on the stream, and and let it floating along the colorful stream of the night.

 "Huh ???"

"It is getting late, I have to go now. Perhaps we will meet again at the end of our journey."

Not understanding what was going on, I confusedly watched her gently walk away and wave to me on the boulevard. She walked so naturally, so casually as if her eyes were something she didn't need and never need it.

Just like that, her figure slowly dissolved into the urban night. Disappear like snow butterflies flying in the night sky.

.

.

.

A few days later, I got on a plane and left this place. Even if we couldn't see each other forever, even if this was the first and last time we meet, I will always remember her.

Remember the blind little girl selling confetti in the afternoon.
